Bobby G. Richardson, Sr., 81, of Valdosta died Saturday, January 15, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Chipley, Florida to the late William Pounce and Carrie Iduma Bowen Richardson and had lived in Valdosta for many years. He owned and operated Richardson Brothers Sheet Metal for many years and attended Pauline Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading his Bible and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Richardson enjoyed gardening with his neighbors and sitting on his front porch waving as people passed by his house.
Survivors include his daughter, Vicky Joyce Glenn of Brooks County, his son and daughter in law, Bobby G, Jr. and Michele Richardson of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Bobby G. "Trey" Richardson, III, Gregory Tyler Richardson, Blake Alexander and Anna Belle Glenn; his great granddaughter, Carlie Elizabeth Glenn; two brothers and four sisters in law, Gerald and Nettie Richardson of Lake Seminole, GA, Henry and Suzanne Richardson of Tampa, FL, Margie Richardson of Panama City, FL, Sandy Richardson of Tampa, FL. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Crosby Richardson, two brothers, Billy Richardson, Jessie Richardson, his sister and brother in law, Gwen and James Starling.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Pauline Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
