Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home - Jacksonville on Jun. 6, 2025.
Bobby Joe Stover, 86, of Sherwood passed from this life on June 5, 2025 at his home. Mr. Stover was born July 15, 1938 in Rison, Arkansas to the late Calvin Jackson and Etta Costello (Reed) Stover. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of Bayou Meto Baptist Church, as well as being a thirty-second degree Mason. Bobby was a jack of all trades, who could fix just about anything, whether it needed it or not. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard, but was always happiest spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stover was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Stover; siblings, Carl Stover, Elbert Stover, Earl Stover, C.J. Stover, Claude Stover, Rupert Stover, Eva Sue Ashcraft and Sara Sowrheaver.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of sixty-three years, Betty Jean (Files) Stover; daughter, Pam Black of Gravel Ridge and grandson, Alex Black also of Gravel Ridge. Other survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Bayou Meto Baptist Church, 26200 AR-107, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. Interment will follow at Gravel Ridge Community Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 1:00pm.
