Mr. Bobby Louis Taylor, Sr., 77, of Graham, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025 at his home.
Bobby was born November 25, 1947 in Wake County to Garland W. Taylor and Lily May Harris. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was often seen wearing his Army hat. Upon his discharge from the military, he worked for many years as an electronics technician. In his free time, Bobby enjoyed collecting coins, listening to music, classic cars, and old western movies. He was a big fan of Elvis, collecting various memorabilia over the years and visiting Graceland twice. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach, feeding the seagulls and enjoying the local restaurants in the Carolina Beach/Wilmington area. He had a big heart that those closest to him will remember fondly.
Bobby is survived by his son, Bobby L. Taylor, Jr.; and half-brothers, Terry Harris and David Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda Turner Taylor, as well as half-brother, Danny Harris.
The family will receive friends from 3:45 – 4:45 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at 5 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. Interment will take place Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 PM at McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Research Center, an organization that Bobby frequently donated to, at www.stjude.org/donate, or Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org/donate.
