VINALHAVEN………………….Robert Llewellyn Warren Sr., lovingly known as "Bobby" or "Captain

Bob," passed away on September 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Bar Harbor on April 15,

1943, Bobby came to Vinalhaven at just 11 years old during the summer to fish alongside his

Uncle Bill and Uncle Sonny. From that point on, the ocean became his home. There was

nothing Bobby loved more than being on the water-whether seining, scalloping, lobstering, or

urchin fishing. He fished up and down the coast of New England and was happiest working the

waters in every season and in every way. Always known for his captain's hat, his generous

spirit, and the joy he took in sharing his world with others through lobster boat rides. Bobby

was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He was also

an avid hunter, enjoying time in the woods as much as time on the water.

When he wasn't on the water, Bobby loved vacationing in Florida, going on cruises, and

enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, and the simple moments with his family and friends. To all who

knew him, he was truly "one of a kind." His wife Lillian often called him "Friendly Freddy," a nick

name that perfectly captured his warm smile, easy-going nature, and the way he made friends

wherever he went.

For 66 years, Bobby shared his life with Lillian, the love who carried him through life's calm

waters and storms. Together they raised four children-Robb (Kathy) Warren, Chris (Mont)

Conway, Russell (Chris) Warren, and Janet (Mike) Gale-and built a family that was his pride

and joy. Bobby was a devoted grandfather to Kayla, Brooke, Trey, Christopher, Steven, Rachael,

and Lily, and a loving great-grandfather to Ellie, Liam, Colin, Emerson, and Sawyer. His faithful

grand dog, Marley rarely left his side, offering him comfort and companionship through the

years.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at 12 noon, October 5, 2025, on the wharf, the place

he loved most. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor a man whose

life was as vast and full as the sea he called home.

Bobby's legacy will live on in the waters he fished, the woods he explored, the family he

cherished, and the countless lives touched by his kindness, friendliness, and generous heart.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.longfuneralhomecamden.com.

Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9 Mountain Street,

Camden.

So very sorry to hear of Bobby´s passing. The last time I saw him he was sitting down cradling his newest great granddaughter Sawyer with a huge smile on his face! He was loved by many - he was a very special man and will be sorely missed.

We all loved him. He was a gentle man. He was one of our son Mark's best friends. He and
Mark used to sing "You are my sunshine" to my 94 year old sister in Connecticut. We enjoyed several delightful boat trips in the Sea Breeze. Condolences to the family. Joan and Skip Tolette
