Bonita L. Schatzel

On June 9, 2025, Bonnie L. Schatzel, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and Ridgecrest staff. Born in Pittsburgh and formerly of Sun City West, Arizona, Bonnie is now reunited with her beloved husband of 65 years, Donald J. Schatzel, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her devoted children: Debbie (Joe) Professori, Dana (Glenn) Grau, and David (Ibone Martinez) Schatzel; and cherished grandchildren: Joey and Donnie Professori, Tyler, Alexa, Danielle and Ashley Grau, and Brandon Moreno.
Bonnie enjoyed a long career as a Pittsburgh-area realtor. In retirement she was busy being the best grandma, traveling, and occasionally dealt blackjack, reflecting her love of people and lively spirit.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Ridgecrest of McCandless and Commonwealth Hospice. Their kindness and care brought comfort and dignity to Bonnie during her final days, making a profound difference for her and her family.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Simons Funeral Home, Inc., 7720 Perry Highway.
Funeral service will be private.
