Bonnie L. Amershek, 86, of Frontenac, Kansas died on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Freeman Hospital at Joplin, Missouri.

Bonnie was born August 29, 1939 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence Leonard Ross and Helen Barbara (Harvey) Ross. She was a graduate of Frontenac High School. Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Frontenac.

She married Tom Amershek on August 19, 1961. Tom and Bonnie were regulars at Barto's Idle Hour and enjoying dancing and spending time with their friends. She was a stay-at-home mom. She started working at Jerry's Yummy Tummy so she could be around her children and their friends. Tom and Bonnie were avid sports fans and loved watching their children and grandchildren play sports. Her middle name was FAMILY! Bonnie not only helped watch her grandchildren but also her great grandchildren. Holiday gatherings were one of her favorite times. Her meatballs and cinnamon rolls were family favorites. Bonnie also loved playing slots at the casino.

Membership was held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband, Tom C. Amershek, of 65 years; her children Tom "Toppy" (Debbie) Amershek of Arma, Tim Amershek, Terri Amershek and Todd (Lisa) of Frontenac; son-in-law Scott Edge; Ten grandchildren, Steve (Krista) Amershek, Brandon (Jenni) Edge, Nic (Courtney) Edge, Julie (Paden) Shaffer, Justin (Megan) Amershek, Katie Amershek, Ross (Tori) Edge, Rachel Amershek, Lukas (Maggie) Amershek, Claire Amershek; 9 great grandchildren, Brayden Amershek, Kaden Shaffer, Kallen Shaffer, Beckett Amershek, Maci Jo Edge, Kinley Shaffer, Ellie Jo Edge, Owen Edge and Brixby Amershek, and expecting her 10th greatgrandchild in October and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Jo Amershek Edge, her parents, brothers, Robert "Bob" Ross, Jackson "Jack" Ross, Donald "Don" Ross and William "Bill" Ross; sisters Barbara "Tad" Roy and Iona "Onie" Neagles.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at

Brenner Mortuary. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used as determined at a later date. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may leave online condonlences at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.
