Bonnie Blackwood

Bonnie Sue Blackwood, age 78, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Mena, Arkansas. She was born on Wednesday, May 21, 1947 to Joseph and Lee Silver Gingold in New York, New York.

Bonnie was the kind of person who could light up any room she walked into, with a quick wit and humor that made it seem like she could have taken the stage as a stand up comedian. She was both tough and sweet at the same time, never afraid to put someone in their place when needed, yet always a lot of fun. Down to earth in every sense, Bonnie loved slipping into her overalls and heading into town looking like a farm girl. She shared a deep and abiding love with her husband and found joy in life's simple pleasures, tending to her garden and loving on her beloved European basset hounds, Gaga, Elsa, Alma, and Cora Pearl.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, James Donaldson of Mena; two sons, Adam Ciferri of Colorado, Seth Ciferri of Oregon; her brother, Larry Gingold of the New York; two grandchildren, Max Ciferri and Clover Ciferri; nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with Dr. Dence officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
