URBANA – Bonnie Louise Davisson, 82 of Urbana, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 in her home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1943 in Chauncey, West Virginia, the daughter of Glen and Jennie (McKain) Cooper.
Bonnie's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them play sports and welcomed every opportunity to have them over to her home to play, laugh, and make memories. Winters often found her in Florida, where she continued to enjoy time with her family and soak in the warmth. Her hobbies reflected her love of nature. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, solving word searches, was a big fan of the Buckeyes and enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband.
A woman of strong faith and generous spirit, Bonnie was a member of the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union and also attended Urbana Freewill Baptist Church, where she cherished the fellowship and church events. While in Florida, she was an active member of Sarasota Baptist Church. Bonnie believed in community and service. She was a proud member of Eastern Star Chapter #39 in Mechanicsburg, the White Water Valley Railroad, and the Farm Bureau. She also found sisterhood and friendship through her involvement with the Red Hat Ladies in both Urbana and Florida.
She is survived by her son James (Morgan) Edwards of Mutual; daughters Melissa (Jim) Johnson, Virginia (Rob) McNutt, Jami (Heath) Cordell; her brother Phillip (Sandy) Cooper; 8 grandchildren, Veronica Savage, Claddie (Nicole) Savage, Ashley (Josh) David, Kacey (Justin) Holland, Cheyenne Baldwin, Colby Baldwin, Alana Edwards, CJ Edwards; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews; and special friend, Connie George.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband William "Bear" Davisson; her sisters Delores (Leon) Callicoat, Claudia (Virgil) Callicoat and Phyllis (Dwight) Pence; and great-granddaughter, Kinsey Whidden.
