Bonnie Strickland Finch, 62, of 141 Forest Lane, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Rex Healthcare after months of declining health. She was born in Bladen County on January 27, 1949 to the late Raymond Strickland and Juanita Pearce Strickland. Bonnie graduated in 1967 from Vaiden Whitley High School, Campbell College in 1971 and did her post graduate work at East Carolina University. She was a school teacher and her expertise was in special reading and she was very involved in the Reading Recovery Program. She was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend Aaron Wallace and Reverend Bobby Richardson officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 prior to the service. Burial: Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591 Surviving: Husband of 28 years: William Sherrill "Bill" Finch Daughter: Michelle VanBeek and husband, Tim of Efland Sisters: Pat Napowsa and husband, Warren of Apex Janice Cauble and husband, Glenn of Rockledge, FL Brother: Edward G. Pait and wife, Jody of Youngsville Sister-In-Law: Shirley Rice and husband, Mark of Manson A host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Michelle Finch. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to His Laboring Few Biker Ministry of Jesus Christ, 812 Martin Luther King Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360.
