It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Jane Gill, who left this world on November 24, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on June 1, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan,
Bonnie lived a life filled with faith, love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.Bonnie was a devoted wife to James Gill for 71 years, and together they created a beautiful family that they cherished deeply. Her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of her daughters and son, Julie (Kris) Atwood, Karen (William) Vack, and late Mark Gill, and through the lives of her beloved grandchildren: Andrea Daly, Meredith (Isaac) Henderson, Claire Atwood, Matthew (Ashlyn) Vack, and Jeremy Vack. Bonnie also took great joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Jacob, Connor, and Levi Henderson. She is preceded in death by her late parents, James and Helen MacArthur.
Bonnie’s life was a testament to her incredible kindness and devotion. An avid traveler, she explored the world with an insatiable curiosity, yet her heart was always anchored to home and family. Known for treating everyone with kindness and respect, she embodied the true spirit of hospitality.
A faithful member of both Flat Rock United Methodist Church and Trenton First Presbyterian Church, Bonnie loved to study God’s Word. She was heavily involved in both local and international mission work and cherished her involvement in the monthly church roast beef dinners for over 30 years. Her unforgettable Lemon-Meringue Pies were a special attraction every month! Her ambition and dedication were reflected in her professional life as well, where she, alongside her entrepreneurial husband James, proudly owned and operated Gill Plumbing for over 30 years, a business still thriving after passing the baton over 40 years ago.
Bonnie’s gracious spirit extended beyond her family, touching neighbors and friends alike, as she served tirelessly to uplift others. She was known for her incredible warmth, generous spirit, and faithfulness, traits that leave a legacy in the lives of many.
Visitation will be held at The Ford Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes in Rockwood, MI, on November 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A service will take place at Flat Rock United Methodist Church on November 29, 2025, visitation at 10:00 AM, with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Bonnie’s legacy of love, kindness, and faithfulness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, and she will be greatly missed.
