Bonnie Hart Obituary
Bonnie, "Bonnie Gay", was born in Watertown, NY on February 9, 1940 to Edgerton Arthur Darling and Estella (Denee). She was baptized on March 23,1940 at Redeemer Church. Bonnie enjoyed archery, bowling and drama, performing in an operetta in junior high and was a lead in the senior play in high school. Bonnie excelled at typing and shorthand. As an outstanding scholar, Bonnie was inducted into both the National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society. She received her high school diploma from Watertown High School on June 21,1957. She married the love of her life, Richard Eldred Hart at Hope Presbyterian Church in Watertown, NY on Sep 23, 1961. Bonnie and Dick moved to Rochester in 1962 when Dick was hired at Kodak. She briefly worked as a bank secretary before their son, Jeffrey was born. They bought their first house in Greece, NY in 1965. After Dick retired in 1993, they moved into their newly built retirement home in Hamlin, NY. Bonnie and Dick joined the Hamlin United Methodist Church in 2000, where they each then attended a spiritual weekend retreat, Walk to Emmaus. Both were baptized again in 2015. Bonnie and Dick went on cruises together in the Caribbean and Panama. Bonnie loved playing cards, Euchre with Dick and their friends, and Corner Aces with her family. She loved watching her many game shows and the old time TV shows like Golden Girls, The Andy Griffith Show and The Carol Burnett Show. Thursdays were always a day she looked forward to, as the "Lunch Bunch" from Hamlin Methodist Church would meet at various restaurants around the area for good food and great conversation.
A Memorial Service will be held later this year for Bonnie at Hamlin Methodist Church, 1742 Lake Rd N, Hamlin, NY 14464.
