Bonnie June Hughes, born June 17, 1944, passed away peacefully during the evening of October 18th, 2025, at the age of 81 while surrounded by family. Originally born in Savannah, Georgia to Shade Manning Carter and Ruby Doretha Carter, she later moved to Dublin, Georgia, where she married Wansley Hughes and started a successful hairdressing business.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wansley Hughes, her two sons, Tom and Clay Hughes, her grandchildren, Jacob, Faith, and Tripp Hughes, her siblings Rickey Carter (Ginger) and Debbie Carter-James (Ricky), and her many nephews and nieces from her wide-reaching and blessed family.
June will be remembered for her compassion, maternal instinct, and love of both gardening and bird watching.
Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Northview Cemetery in Dublin. June's grandson, the Reverend Jacob Hughes, will be officiating. Richie, Jesse, and Daniel Carter will serve as pallbearers.
June's family may be reached at the home of Wansley and June Hughes.
