Bonnie L. Smith, 63, of Tennessee, Illinois, passed away at 3:35 AM Friday Aug. 29, 2025 at her residence.
She was born December 3, 1961 in Carthage, Illinois to Clifford Junior and Georgia Mae (Blakeslee) Carle; she married Anthony D. Smith on Dec. 8, 1986. He survives.
Also surviving is her mother Georgia Mae Carle of Plymouth. Her daughters, Nickie (Gene) Icenogle of Industry, Cassy (Gaven) Jennings of Macomb and Katherine (Justin) Akers of Fountain Green; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; brothers, Richard (Rose Ann) Carle of La Prairie, Rex (Diane) Carle of Plymouth, Curtis Carle of Plymouth, Gary Carle of Grandview Iowa and two sisters, Jeannette (Lynn) Jones of Guthrie, Kentucky and Lisa Coleman (Steve Harlin) of Good Hope; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Clifford Junior Carle, brothers Robert "Flea" and Ronnie Carle, and two nephews, Mark Carle and Jessie Jones.
To know Bonnie was to love her. She had a contagious laugh and never knew a stranger. If you ever needed anything, she was the first in line to lend a helping hand. She was a lover of many things, but mostly for her family. She enjoyed spending time with them, listening to them play their music, and retelling of childhood memories. Her vibrant personality brightened the lives of everyone she met. She may not have been able to change the world, but to those who knew her; their worlds have been changed forever.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
