Bonnie J. Vanden Plas, Green Bay, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the age of 90. Bonnie was born April 18, 1934, in Green Bay, to the late William and Mayme (Ropson) De Baker. She married Harry Vanden Plas, Jr., on June 2, 1956, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2016.
Bonnie was the one who proudly started the "Angel Tree Program" at K-Mart, where she worked for over 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, and going to the casino with her friends and neighbors. Christmas was her favorite time of year.
Bonnie is survived by her five children, Paul (Jill) Vanden Plas, Mark (Debbie) Vanden Plas, Randy (Dixie) Vanden Plas, Kelly (Tabbi) Vanden Plas, and Terry (Kelly) Vanden Plas; daughter-in-law, Jolene Vanden Plas; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother Verlin De Baker; sister-in-law, Marilyn De Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; son, Tim Vanden Plas; daughter, Penny Davis; brothers, Marvin and Roland (Marlene) De Baker; and in-laws.
Family and friends may visit the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Entombent of Bonnie, Harry, and Penny will follow.
