Bonnie Weishar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes- Holt Delhi Chapel on Mar. 6, 2024.
Passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Bonnie trusted in Jesus as her Savior and is now rejoicing to be home in heaven with Jesus. Her Christian faith was evident throughout her life. Born on June 3, 1944, in Albion, Michigan, Bonnie's life was marked by her loving nature, gentle spirit, and enduring kindness.
Bonnie's journey began as the daughter of Harold and Hazel (Stark) Miller. After graduating from Albion High School, Bonnie furthered her education at Jackson Business College, which laid the foundation for her successful career in medical billing from which she retired. Her work ethic and commitment to her faith led to her active involvement with Messiah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being a part of many groups and activities there.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Hazel, and her half-sister, Dolores Cope. Bonnie's legacy of love continues through her husband of 56 years, Paul Weishar. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their three children Elizabeth (Michael) Rodgers, Andrew (Christie) Weishar, and Mark (Erin) Weishar. Bonnie's joy multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild: Megan Rodgers, Cody (Randi) Rodgers, Allison (Britton) McCreight, Alexa Weishar, Colin Weishar, August Weishar, and Tess "Ray" Weishar, seven great-grandchildren, her sister, Betty (Tom) Sams, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, will also hold Bonnie's memory dear.
An avid reader, Bonnie found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her love for puzzles and games reflected her sharp mind and playful spirit. Those who knew Bonnie will fondly remember her sewing skills and the taste of her exceptional baked goods and breads.
Travel held a special place in Bonnie's heart, offering her and Paul the opportunity to explore the world together. Their journeys took them to most of the states within the USA, and across the Atlantic to Europe 12 times.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church, Holt with Pastor Mark Werner officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt Chapel. Visitation will also continue Saturday at the church at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Outreach Fund in memory of Bonnie.
