Bounnak Chanthavong

Bounnak Chanthavong, age 69, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Born in Thakhek, Laos to Thompaek and Maekie Chanthavong, Bounnak built a life defined by hard work, devotion, and deep love for those around him. He worked as a welder at Bluegrass Tank and Equipment for 20 years and was a proud member of the Laos Association of Kentucky. Outside of work, he enjoyed squirrel hunting and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and connection to every gathering.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thompaek Chanthavong; his mother, Maekie Chanthavong; his wife, Seng Chanthavong; his brother, Nu Vaat; and his sister, Som Aat Chanthavong.

Bounnak is survived by his sons, Chip (Candace)Chanthavong of Elizabethtown, KY, and Teuy (Sonita) Sisoumankhara of Greenville, SC; his daughter, Cheris (Kayla) Chanthavong of Leitchfield, KY; his sisters, Paa Chanthavong and Si Vaat Chanthavong; his brother, La SaMón Chanthavong; and his beloved grandchildren, London, Sebastian, and Griffin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY, with family officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY.
