Boyce Eugene Donaway, 79, of Cisco, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, in Abilene.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Dothan Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
Boyce was born January 25, 1947, in Cisco to Joe Donaway and Era Powell Donaway. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gerald Donaway; and his Aunt Pearl Donaway.
Boyce was a hardworking man whose life was rooted in faith, family, and the land. He worked for Comanche County Coop for many years as a dedicated lineman, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him. But his true passion was farming and ranching. He loved plowing the fields, tending the soil, and working cattle. His gardens were legendary - large enough to feed what seemed like the entire town - a reflection of his generosity and tireless work ethic.
He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. His quiet strength, steady presence, and ability to figure out anything placed before him made him someone his family and friends relied on without hesitation.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Donaway; his daughter, Mischa Campbell and husband Jon; his grandsons, Bryce Campbell and Colin Campbell; his stepdaughter, Donna Hawkins and husband Terry; his stepson, Dean Tollefson; step-granddaughters Joanna Rodriguez and husband Josh, Sara Villanueva and husband Sam, and Rebeca Hawkins; and step-great-grandchildren Juliet, Violet, Elliott, Hazel, and Hendrix, along with extended family and many friends who will miss his wisdom, guidance, and unwavering love.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Redeemer Childhood Learning Center at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco or to the Dothan Cemetery.
