Boyce Edward "Bo" Hawk

Boyce Hawk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruebel Funeral Home from Dec. 11, 2025 to Jan. 27, 2026.
Biography: Boyce Edward "Bo" Hawk passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Bo was born July 10, 1946, in Swifton, Arkansas. He was the youngest of six children born to Clifton Hawk and Eva Marie Mofield Hawk. Clifton died shortly before Bo's birth.
Bo quickly learned the value of hard work from his mother as she raised six children on her own. Bo's older siblings encouraged him and enabled him to become the first in the family to earn a college degree.
Bo earned a BA in business at the University of Arkansas. While in Fayetteville, he pledged Kappa Sigma and made many life-long friends. He also met the love of his life, Sunny Sturdivant. They married in January of 1969. Bo entered the Army Reserve after graduation and completed training at The Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. He completed law school in Fayetteville earning his Juris Doctor (JD). In 1974, he earned a Masters of Tax Law (LLM) from SMU in Dallas, Texas. He very much liked to tell his children that he knew best because he had three degrees! Bo practiced law in Little Rock for over 40 years.
Bo loved watching sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. Bo enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson and often sang along in the car on family trips. He never met a stranger and made a new friend at every stop. Bo loved telling jokes and doling out nicknames – if you received one, that meant he liked you.
Bo was a faithful member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church for almost 50 years. As his heath declined in the last few years he watched services weekly online.
Bo's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Sunny, his daughter Elizabeth Ann Carlton, his "favorite (and only!) granddaughter" Marin Carlton, all of Little Rock, his son Matthew Hawk, brother-in-law Rick Sturdivant and wife Vivian, all of Springdale, Arkansas, nephew Shannon Hawk of Flower Mound, Texas and great-nephew Hunter Hawk of Memphis, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Bo was preceded in death by his brothers Billy Wayne Hawk, Doyle "Doc" Hawk, Charles "Pete" Hawk, his two sisters Evelyn King and Charlene Milligan, nephews Cliff Hawk, Bobby King, and Jim Milligan, and niece Jamie Milligan.
A celebration of Bo's life will be held at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:00am. The service will be live streamed at www.phumc.com/live
If desired, memorials may be made to the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church Foundation, 4823 Woodlawn, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205 or www.phumcfoundation.org/give Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Sorry for your loss. I had a good conversation with Bo a few years ago. Talked about Swifton and some of our respective family members. He was a great guy and well liked in school.
