Boyd Creech Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 29, 2025.
Boyd F. Creech, 92 of Long Grove IL, born June 9, 1933, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Ogreeta and Fred Creech, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025 with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Peggy Creech, and by his son, Steve Creech.

Boyd met Peggy while he was stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. They married within a year of their first date and then moved to Albuquerque where they lived for 13 years. They built their dream home in Cedar Crest NM within the Sandia Mountains.

A job change brought Boyd, Peggy, and their four young children to the Chicago area in 1967, where they lived for more than 50 years in the Northwest suburbs. Boyd was very analytical and gifted mechanically. To the amazement of his family, friends and neighbors, he could diagnose and repair anything.

Boyd is survived by his sister Mary Anne, his daughter Sandi Pusateri (Frank) and his sons Russ and Mike Creech (Patricia). Boyd was an Air Force veteran and served honorably during the Korean War. He left the Air Force as a staff sergeant. Later Boyd built a distinguished career as president of one of the largest commercial nondestructive testing firms in the United States. He was a devoted father of four children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whom he deeply adored.
