Funeral services for Don C. Creech, Sr., 83, of Barnwell, SC Retired Sergeant of the Barnwell Police Department will be held at one o'clock, p.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverends Cliff Creech and Don McCormick officiating; burial will follow in the Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend LeRoy Dodson officiating and honors will be accorded. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from six p.m. to eight p.m. at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Don passed away at home on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Born in Barnwell County, SC he was a son of the late Boyce Lee Creech and Ossie-Bell Diamond Creech. He was a member of Reach Out Ministries in Barnwell. Don graduated from Barnwell High School class of 1960, he was a Warhorse Football player known for his toughness and speed on the field as a Safety and Linebacker and wore the #62 with pride. He went straight into the South Carolina National Guard and served for eight years earning several Medals including a Combat Engineer Medal, Expert Rifle Medal and earned a Fitness medal. He then started his law Enforcement career after completing the SC Criminal Justice Academy. Don worked for the Barnwell Police Department then served in several towns and cities in South Carolina. Don came back to Barnwell where he earned the rank of Sergeant and retired after forty-one total years of Law Enforcement service. Don loved animals and especially his cats, Tango, TarBaby, YellowHand, and Bullet. He loved to rabbit hunt and listen to his beagles run. He Loved the Lord and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his children, Don Clifford "Cliff" (Roxie) Creech, Jr. of Barnwell, SC, Rodney Lee Boyce Creech of Seneca, SC, Randy (Sherri) Creech of Columbia, SC, Donna (Brian) Key of Aiken, SC and James Quinten Creech of Seneca, SC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Bettie Marie and several nieces.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Joyce Funderburk and his brother, Billy Creech.

So sorry to read of Don's passing. He was one of my very first friends when my family moved to Barnwell in 1951. I remember him as a fun-loving, forever-friend. May he rest in peace for the service he provided to our community.
