It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Boyi Ou, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left this world on May 20, 2025, at the age of 55. Boyi was born on November 1, 1969, in Xianyang, China, and he brought light and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He grew up in Nanjing, China, studied Master at Golden, Colorado; worked and lived in
Katy, Texas.
Boyi's journey of life was marked by remarkable achievements and a spirit that inspired all around him. He graduated from Nanjing University in 1991, where he laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for learning. His commitment to education continued as he earned his master's degree from the Colorado School of Mines in 1995. Throughout his educational journey, Boyi cultivated not only knowledge but also friendships that would last a lifetime.
In 1994, Boyi married his loving wife, Sha Hong, with whom he shared a deep bond and a beautiful life. Together, they welcomed two wonderful children into the world: their daughter, Madeline Ou, and their son, Matthew Ou. Boyi was a devoted father whose love for his children was evident in every moment spent together. He was their biggest supporter, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams with passion and perseverance.
In addition to being an extraordinary family man, Boyi was a creative soul. His hobbies included lyric writing, music composition, and playing guitar, through which he expressed his love for life and the beauty he saw in the world. He had a unique talent for writing poems that resonated with the depths of human emotion, often reflecting his kind heart and open-minded spirit.
Boyi was known for his humor and warm disposition, making those around him feel cherished and valued. His considerate nature and zest for life were qualities that left a lasting impact on friends and family alike. He was a man who cherished every moment, radiating positivity and joy wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife, Sha Hong; his daughter, Madeline Ou; his son, Matthew Ou; his mother, Tao Gao; and his father, Qingxian Ou. The love he cultivated within his family and the friendships he built throughout his life will forever be a testament to the incredible person he was.
A funeral service celebrating Boyi's life will be held on May 26, 2025, at 4:00 at Schmidt Funeral Home - Grand Parkway. This gathering will be an opportunity for all who knew and loved Boyi to come together, share stories, and honor his memory.
