Bradley Dale Bolton, 63, of Stonington, Illinois, passed away on September 9, 2024, at his residence.
Brad was born October 13, 1960, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of James and Paula (Rich) Bolton. He grew up in Virden, Illinois where he attended high school, graduating with his classmates in 1978. He went on to enlist in the military after high school, where Brad dedicated the next 13 years to the United States Air Force, being stationed close to home at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois
Once his duty to the United States had been completed, he moved to Taylorville, Illinois, where he spent as many as 25 of his working years with the Walmart corporation and as a former owner of 401K Excavating in Stonington, Illinois. In recent times you could find Brad working as a kitchen manager at the local Casey's in Blue Mound, Illinois.
He was a fun-loving man who was kind and thoughtful. Brad was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back and his last penny, to someone who was in need. He had a unique, quirky sense of humor and was known as an all-around good man. In his spare time, he liked riding motorcycles, being outside and enjoying activities such as camping, hunting, and fishing. Brad found joy in art of many kinds, especially painting and drawing. He loved the music of the '70's such as artists like Pink Floyd and the Doors. He was a hippy at heart.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Paula, and brother, Keith Hutchison.
Surviving Brad are his sons, Jason (Brittney) Bolton of Peyton, Colorado, Drake Bolton, and Devon (Courtney) Scott, both of Taylorville, Illinois; daughter, Serena Wright of Taylorville, Illinois; grandchildren, Alex, Bailey, Amelia, Malcolm, Mason, Rilynn; step-grandchildren, Adilynn, Kendall, and Piper; siblings, Teresa Kahl of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jim Hutchinson of Virden, Illinois, Connie (Rick) Marx of Girard, Illinois, Terry Hutchinson and friend Janet of Auburn, Illinois, Lisa Boone of Virden, Illinois, Mike Hutchinson of Girard, Illinois, Mary (Craig) Wagner of Shorewood, Illinois, Scott (Sheri) Hutchinson of Denver, Colorado, David Towne and friend Helen of Stonington, Illinois, and Beth (Rick) Howard of Jacksonville, Illinois; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2024, at Coghlan's Hideout, 201 Main Street, Bulpitt, Illinois. The phone number is (217)720-9160.
