Bradford "Brad" Frank Hadnot III, age 43, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Born on January 13, 1982, in Birmingham, Alabama, Brad was the beloved son of Mary Brown and the late Bradford Frank Hadnot, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents: Marylyn Hadnot, Dr. Brad Hadnot, Sr., Dorothy Bradley, and Dave Fox.
Brad dedicated eight years of his life to teaching in the Clayton County School System, where he inspired countless students as a current 8th grade Language Arts teacher at Eddie White Middle Academy. He will be remembered for his passion for education, his kind heart, and the impact he made on young lives.
Brad enjoyed history and learning and passing his knowledge on to others. In his younger years, he was a Civil War reenactor. He was an avid sports and car enthusiast and coached high school baseball and middle school football over the years. He assisted at school sports stadiums with time clock management and announcing at games. He enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with his wife and family/friends and seeing the world. Brad was always willing to help those in need in any way that he could.
Brad is survived by his devoted wife, Carrie Lynn Rich-Hadnot; his cherished fur children, dogs Sirius and Kylo; his mother, Mary Brown of Cave Spring; his brothers, Austin Brown of Covington, Christopher (Jodie) Brown of Athens, TN, and Marcus Mosley of Jonesboro; and his sister, Tracy Vargas of Jackson. He was a proud uncle to Malakai Vargas, Christian Brown, Zachary Brown, Thomas Braswell, Leah Braswell, Ian Boyd, and Lena (Ian) Mashburn.
He also leaves behind his loving in-laws, Pam and Brad Boyd; his sister-in-law, Carol (Jim) Braswell; brother-in-law Andrew (Becky) Boyd; his aunt, Tina Watkins; his cousin, Tyler Watkins; his honorary son, Brice Gatewood; and many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held directly after the visitation, starting at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brad's memory to the Clayton County Humane Society. Contributions can be made by calling 770-471-9436 or visiting www.claytoncountyhumane.org/support.
