Brad Douglas Houston, 59, life-long resident of LeRoy, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO, with his family at his side.

Brad was born November 30, 1966, at Iola, KS, the son of Charles B. Houston, Jr. and Mildred "Millie" (Latino) Houston.

He attended the LeRoy schools and then was employed at the Glen Rodgers farm, IBP in Emporia, Parmely Poultry Farm, and the Walmart Distribution Center in Ottawa before going to work for the State of Kansas Highway Department.

On January 12, 1996, he and Debra Sue English were married at Miami, OK.

In his spare time Brad enjoyed all things outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping, and long country drives scouting for deer and other animals.

He and Debra hosted foster children for 20 years, welcoming numerous youth into their home.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Sherman, Charlie, and Linda.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; his children, Tyler Douglas Houston (Jessica), Iola, KS, John Garretson, LeRoy, and Chris Garretson, Iola; five grandchildren, Kaylie, Tanner, Colby, Madalynn, and Nova; 3 great-grandchildren, Kimber, Aspyn, and Levi; six brothers, Jimmy, Wayne, Wes, Dave, Mark, and Danny; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the LeRoy Community Building at a time to be announced.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839, to assist the family with expenses.
