I worked with Brad for many years at DPS. He was one of the best troopers I had ever had the pleasure of working with. He was always positive. If I was having a bad day, he went out of his way to make me laugh and get me back to my happy self. You are so loved, Brad. We will all miss you so much. Shawna, I love you, girl. I am always here for you if you need anything! God be with his family. Praying for you all.

Brad was my CSM on our deployment to Egypt. While we were in Ireland I dared a new privet (my best friend) to offer a shot of whiskey to CSM Sutton. This quickly turned into a wild and rowdy 2 hour drinking session between the three of us ending with the the bar being shut down and Irish law enforcement getting reports from airport staff that "200+ drunk infantrymen were taking over the airport". It´s by far my favorite moment throughout my entire time in service. He always looked out for us and made sure we were ok. I can count the number of senior NCOs on my right hand with fingers left over who actually cared about his people and made a lifelong lasting impression on me. He was one of them.

The NCO training he lead at Annual Training 2019 right before the Africa deployment. He was as straight forward as they come, but he always leaned forward when taking care of the Soldiers. Always.
