Bradlee Deana Merwin
In the early moments of July 10, 2025, Bradlee Deana Merwin passed away in Miles City, Montana, with the comfort of family by her side. Bradlee was 66 years old.
Bradlee Deana Henrichs was born to Dick and Leota Henrichs on April 28, 1959, in Miles City, Montana. She was the oldest of three children and would grow up and attend school at Custer County District High School.
As a young girl, Bradlee was a nurturing soul and a natural at being a second mother to her little sister Brand Dee, and little brother Brent, while being the best big sister and friend to them both. She loved ice skating, having a rink at their home. She was inquisitive and spent a great deal of her time challenging her mind through crosswords, puzzles and playing card games. She would read almost anything she could find, a passion that continued for her entire life. She also enjoyed going for rides growing up, much like her mother, another pastime she would carry on into adulthood.
Bradlee was close with her grandmother, Trixie, and they were great friends, becoming her caregiver after her mother passed away. She spoke often of her grandma and cherished all the memories she had, further nurturing and fostering so much care for those she loved.
Bradlee met Brad Merwin in 1982, and through a long-distance friendship then relationship, their love blossomed and grew. They were married on May 1, 1986, spending their lives together and raising their four sons, the P, B, A, J brothers in Miles City. Her boys kept her busy and on her toes through different sports, quick wit, pranks and always being the house where their friends could feel at home, too.
Bradlee spent much of her working life at the 600 Café and Hole in the Wall, enjoying her time with each of her customers and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and well taken care of. She and Brad worked to extend that welcome feeling when they opened The Point in 1996, having a place for Bradlee to express her care for all children and her ability to feed them well. She spent her days during this time ensuring anyone who came into The Point for games and friends left with a full belly, and a mother's love.
Bradlee became a cancer survivor in the 90's, beating Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma with her husband and sons encouraging and helping her through every step. She would later develop an auto-immune disease as a result of her treatments, that would ultimately change the trajectory of the last 17 years of her life. Through those years, she focused her time on her family and friends.
Bradlee had many gifts and titles in life, none greater than being a mother and a grandmother. She loved her sons endlessly and lived for encouraging and supporting whatever path they were traversing. Paul was her first born, the son who made her a mother first. She was so proud of his accomplishments, of his strength and his determination. Brian was always so caring and thoughtful, full of deep understanding and she was full of joy at seeing his love for his children and proud of his grit and tenacity. Adsem was her brilliant son, and she loved his creativity and art, proud of his ability to transform his thoughts into works of beauty. Jordan was her youngest, her baby. She was proud of his heart, his loyalty.
Bradlee spent as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren. She was always up for a visit, a sleepover, and hugs. She looked forward to hearing from her grandchildren every day, even through long distances. She was very active with video calls, messages and making sure all her grandchildren knew how much she loved them and how much they meant to her. Being "Grammy" and "MeMaw" was the highlight of her life, and she loved to talk to everyone about how incredible, smart, and beautiful they all were.
Bradlee's journey in life was one of great love, and she was thankful every day for the time she was given to share and give that love freely to her family and friends.
She is survived by her father, Rooster, her husband, Brad, her four boys, Paul (Tab), Brian (Leandra), Adsem (Jamie) and Jordan ( Brandy.) Her siblings, brother Brent (Janice) and their three children, sister Brand Dee (Cody) and their three children. Two uncles, Bob Fontaine and Mike (Maria) Bradley. Seven grandchildren, Jayden, Mason, Landyn, Penelope, Phoenix, Luna and Kella Mae. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, her bonus daughters Rachel, Sami, Alicia and Tiffany, and her special niece, Amanda, who helped care for her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Leota Henrichs, grandmother Trixie Bradley, grandfather Jack Bradley, father and mother in law, Albert and Marty Merwin.
A celebration and memorial for Bradlee will be held for friends and family in the future.
Bradlee's family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and nurses at Holy Rosary/Intermountain Healthcare for caring for her in her last days.
