Bradley Edwin Day
September 13, 1962 – June 7, 2025
Bradley Edwin Day of Ruston, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on June 7, 2025, in the presence of his beloved wife, Sabrina Day. He was born on September 13, 1962, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Edwin Terry Day Jr. and JoAnn Rucks Day.
Brad is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Sabrina Day; his children, Edwin Lee Day and his girlfriend Kaitlyn Sonnier, and Jordan Taylor Donald and her husband Nick Donald. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Tucker Donald, Jase Donald, Willow Donald, Skylar Day, Axle Sonnier, and Ivy Sonnier.
He is also survived by his father, Edwin Terry Day Jr., and his sister Traci Lynn Farrah and her husband Bobby Farrah. Brad was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Rucks Day.
Brad was raised in Texarkana, Texas, and graduated from Texas High School in 1981. He was well known in the community for his athletic achievements in basketball, football, and baseball. One of his favorite stories to tell was pitching against Michael Jordan in the 20th Annual Dixie Youth World Series final, where Jordan famously hit a home run off of him-a memory Brad wore with pride and humor.
After high school, Brad attended Texarkana Community College before embarking on a 33-year career with Blue Bell Creameries, where he was known for his hard work and strong relationships.
Brad met the love of his life, Sabrina, in September of 1986. He was captivated by her energy and zest for life, and they were married on July 11, 1987, in Giddings, Texas. Their life together was filled with laughter, love, and adventure.
Brad was a man who found joy in every moment and brought that joy to those around him. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found gardening, golfing, cooking, fishing, or hunting. He passed that passion on to his children and grandchildren, cherishing every outing and moment they spent together.
In his final days, Brad found comfort in the simple pleasures-chocolate caramel candy, time spent in the garden with his wife and son, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. Above all, he will be remembered as a man who fiercely loved and protected his family.
A memorial service celebrating Brad's life will be held on July 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Ruston, located at 200 South Trenton Street in Ruston, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Brad's honor.
