Bradley Feeken Obituary

Feeken, Bradley J.

July 15, 1975 - December 30, 2023

Bradley Joseph Feeken, 48, of Gretna, NE, passed away on December 30, 2023, after a two year battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He left behind a devoted crowd of family, friends and basketball players. To Brad, coaching (and life) was simple: "Do right." He pursued it with obsessive passion. Brad is survived by his wife, Jenny; and children, Rylinn, Maylee, and John; as well as his mother, Jeanie Feeken, of Omaha; and sister, Karen Feeken, of Greenville, SC.

There will be a VISITATION SERVICE on Sunday, January 7th, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. FUNERAL will be at 1 p.m., Monday, January 8th, with cookies and coffee to follow. Both will be held at Journey Church, 20020 Hampton Dr., Gretna, NE. Attendees are invited to wear their Gretna apparel, jeans and your favorite Gretna t-shirt!

Mr. Feeken taught and coached all four of my girls over the years. All grieved at his passing last year, and several of us were able to attend his memorial service in Journey Church. I remember seeing his players -- past and present -- gathered together on one side of the church, It was heartbreaking to see their expressions, their devotion to their beloved coach. They sat silently, looking lost without him.

I know how difficult it must have been to carry on for his family, students, and close friends. But Mr. Feeken will remain a legend in Gretna in the coming decades, an honor seldom bestored but so well deserved!

Mr. Feeken was the best of the best! I'm pretty sure he was everyone's favorite teacher and for a good reason. What an incredibly positive and wonderful human! He made everyone laugh and had such a one-of-a-kind personality that could hold the attention of the entire room of students every single day. He impacted the lives of so many people, and I appreciate the memories from my time in his classroom. Thank you for the memories, Mr. Feeken! I am sorry that I could not attend the funeral because I now live in the U.K.. My heart goes out to his family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and send my love in this extremely difficult time.

Mr. Feeken taught all four of my girls over the years, so I can easily and honestly attest to the integrity of this fine teacher. He was a pillar in the Gretna community and I have rarely known anyone so loved and admired in this world. As a way of rememberance, I hope his legacy of teaching and mentoring is carried on by those who knew him best. May God now bless his loved ones and may all of us keep the spirit of all the good Mr. Feeken's life represented.

Mr. Feeken taught all four of my girls over the years, so I can easily and honestly attest to the excellence of this fine young man. He truly was a pillar in our community, representing the best of Gretna. I have seldom known anyone so loved and admired by all, and it is with great sadness we say goodbye this week. May God now bring peace to his family and friends, and his mentoring legacy be what we all aspire to become in this world.
