Bradley Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Britton Funeral Home on Mar. 14, 2026.
Bradley Smith was 98 years old when he entered his Heavenly home on Friday March 13th, 2026 at AdventHealth in Manchester, KY. A devoted husband for almost 61 years to his late wife Edna Swafford Smith who passed away in 2013.

He was born on Powder Horn in the Brightshade area of Clay County, Ky on July 15th, 1927 to the late Flem and Ellie Taylor Smith.

He was an Army Veteran who served in Germany.

He was a loving father to 7 children. 6 of his own and 1 who was adopted. Kathy Collins, Kenny Smith, Michael Smith, Jimmy Smith, Brenda Reece, Bobby Smith (who preceded him in death in 2024), and Amanda Lyn Baker.

His favorite past time was spending time in his garden. The year 2025 was the first year in which he was unable to have one.

He was a devout Christian and the oldest member of Hubbard Missionary Baptist Church.

He is also preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Dewey, George, Ted, Lester, J.B., Lillee, Axie, Dorothy, Bernice, and Pauline.

He leaves behind several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Some who will never have the chance to meet him to know what an amazing man he truly was. Only through stories and memories that will be shared.

He was loved by so many, and will be greatly missed.

Services for Bradley will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18th, at Britton Funeral Home, with Herman Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Taylor Cemetery on Powder Horn.

Visitation for Bradley will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17th, at Britton Funeral Home.
