Bradley Tewart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leal Funeral Home - West Houston on Feb. 14, 2025.
Bradley Dickenson Tewart, 72 of
Houston, Texas was surrounded by
family as he passed away on February
12, 2025. Brad never knew a stranger.
Wherever he went, he chatted and
made connections with people. He
was always curious, questioning and
engaging. Brad enjoyed learning new
things. He loved being outside in
nature; biking, hiking, camping and
working in his yard. He enjoyed these
activities with family and friends. He
never had a bad day, always happy.
He had a keen eye for collecting things
and displaying them in his home. This
design continued in his plantings in his
beautiful tropical garden. The love of
nature and animals was always
evident in how he spoiled his pets,
most recently his dog Ollie. Family was
important to Brad and he spent time
bragging about his wife, children and
grandchildren. Brad is survived by his
wife, Kathy Huacuja Tewart, his loving
partner in travel and adventure since
March 11, 2000. He was a proud father of two sons, Nathan Tewart (Katie)
Granddaughters Autumn, Norah and Grandson, Simon and son Gordon Tewart
(Steffanie), grandson Antonio, stepdaughter Misty LaPointe (Brent) granddaughter
Madi. Brad was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Polly and Braxton Eggleton Tewart on
August 30, 1952. Bradley lived in Kentucky until moving to North Miami Beach,
Florida, to Detroit, Michigan, Omaha, Nebraska, Glen Ridge, New Jersey and then to
Worthington, Ohio. Graduate of Worthington High School, 1970 and The Ohio State
University, 1974. He was a member of the ROTC during college and graduated with a
business degree. He was a proud Buckeye graduate and followed the games with his
Buckeye Club in Houston. Bradley moved to Houston, Texas in 1978 and lived there
until his death. Preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Don Pierce.
Survived by his sister Lydia Tewart Pierce, brother Jeffrey Tewart (Julie) and sister Sara
Dale (Andy). Sister-in-laws, Judy, Debbie and brother-in-law, William and many nieces
and nephews and their families. A gathering celebrating his life will occur in April.

Brad, Larry Rubin and I were very close friends in HS and college. We had so much fun together. I cherish the memories of our friendship.

Brad, Larry Rubin and I were great friends. In high school (Thomas Worthington) the three of us were together constantly. I visited Brad once in Houston once when I was in the Air Force. I'm so very sorry to hear about his passing.
