Brandi Kay (England) Shepherd, a dedicated healer, loving mother, and lifelong resident of Warsaw, went home to the Lord on Friday, January 2, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 47 years old.

Born on March 29, 1978, in Warsaw to M. Joyce England and Rodney England, Brandi grew up with a vibrant spirit and a drive to serve others. A 1996 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, she fondly remembered her days competing with the Tigerettes in the Warsaw Marching Band.

Brandi’s professional life was a testament to her lifelong commitment to growth and caregiving. She began her career in 1997 as a licensed cosmetologist after graduating from Ravenscroft Beauty College. Her true calling, however, was in medicine. In 2006, she earned her Practical Nursing degree from Ivy Tech and her Associates in Nursing from Bethel College. She spent many years at Kosciusko Community Hospital (KCH) in the birthing center, where she found immense joy in helping families bring new life into the world.

Her pursuit of excellence led her to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel in 2010, followed by service in the Emergency Department at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka. In 2020, she achieved her highest professional milestone, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University to become a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). Brandi went on to serve her community with expertise and compassion at the CVS Minute Clinic and most recently at Urgent Care.

Above all her professional accolades, Brandi’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her four children: Kyndell (fiancé Riley Bower) Shepherd of Kokomo, and Jocelyn Shepherd, Abigail Shepherd, and Dillon Lutz, all of Warsaw. She also leaves behind her beloved life partner, Brandon Aylor; her parents, Joyce (Kaufman) England and Rodney England; and her sisters, Sabrina England and Chrystal (Zackery) Swope. Chosen brother Jeremy (Elizabeth) Neibert. Jason Shepherd and Tory Lutz the fathers of her children.

Brandi’s memory is cherished by her aunts and uncles: Laura (Kaufman) and Scott Kolakowski, Kurt (Shelly) Kaufman, Stanley England, Corliss Rapsavage, Lisa England, and Shawn and Dawn Morton. She is also remembered by her many cousins: Nick and Jake Kaufman, Terry Wright, Patrick and William England, Matthew (Tara) Morton, Zack (Michelle) Morton, Nate Morton, Ryan (Lindsey) Rapsavage, Corey, Chris, and Jeff Kaufman, and Amanda (Kaufman) Fowler. Her legacy continues through her nieces and nephews: Hailey and Hayden Swope, Mason (Katelyn Reutebuch) Swope, and Jake England; her great-nephew, Carter Swope; and her countless friends and colleagues.

Brandi was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ronald and Sally (Millington) Kaufman and Celeste (Conley) Kaufman; her paternal grandparents, Vallis and Kristeen (Marshall) England; her uncles, Ronald, George, Jack, and Jim Kaufman; and her aunt, Sharon McAndrew.

Brandi will be remembered for her resilience, her unwavering dedication to the nursing profession, and the deep, unconditional love she held for her children.
