Brandon Garrison Obituary

Brandon Tyler Garrison
July 21, 1988 – March 25, 2025
Brandon Tyler Garrison, age 36, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on March 25, 2025 after being involved in motor vehicle accident. He was born on July 21, 1988, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, weighing just 2 pounds and 13 ounces. His small birth weight made it difficult for him to achieve his milestones on time and caused challenges throughout his school years. Though doctors predicted that Brandon would likely never live independently or be without constant direction, he defied those expectations. With determination and resilience, he exceeded what his family and doctors ever imagined, proving time and again his ability to figure things out and thrive on his own. His goal was independence-and he achieved it.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Melissa Garrison-Smith (husband Christopher Smith) and Lyle Edward Garrison II (wife Gennie Garrison); his sister, Haleigh Garrison; his brother, Justin Garrison (husband Jon Garrison); and his grandfather, Lyle Edward Garrison Sr. He also leaves behind his niece, Shiniyah, and his nephew, Rylee.
He will be deeply missed by his extended family: Melody and Brent Duholke (children: Mollie and Emma), Marcia and Scott Mehl (children: Michael, Jon, and Rachel), Jordan and Chelsey Watkins (their four children: Zaiden, Issac, Josephine and Margaret); stepsister Samantha and Nathan Grosso (Ava and Nekoda); and stepbrother Dakota and Leah Kravtzoff (Liam, Leo and Rylan).
Brandon was married to Melanie Garrison in November 17, 2018 and the couple lived together in Plant City, Florida, prior to his move later to Hagerstown, Maryland.
Known for his quirky wit and sharp sarcasm, Brandon brought laughter and warmth to those who knew him. He was an avid gamer, enjoying both video games and online gaming communities. Brandon was committed to his work and took pride in his dedication. Though he never learned to drive, partly out of concern for the safety of himself and others, he found independence through walking, biking, or using his electric bike/scooter-no matter the weather or time of day.
Brandon thrived when following routine and structure. His quiet strength, unwavering determination, and genuine spirit made a lasting impression on many hearts. He will not be forgotten.
