Brandon Gisi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 9, 2015.
Brandon Joseph Gisi passed away at the young age of 27 years old on September 1, 2015. He was born on August 16, 1988 in Houston, Texas, to the loving parents of Joe and Karin Gisi. When he was 5, his sister, Madison, was born and they had an unconditional love and bond nobody could break. She followed his every move and he taught her everything he knew. They were best friends and he was so proud of all her accomplishments. Brandon was her number one fan. Another very important girl in his life was his black Labrador retriever, Sophie. She was his shot gun rider and he commonly referred to her as his "girlfriend"

Brandon was raised in Sugar Land, Texas and moved out to Richmond, Texas, when he was 7 years old. He was able to do what he loved, riding his four wheelers and shooting his BB guns all over the yard. Brandon was blessed with the gift of athleticism where he excelled at every sport he played; soccer, gymnastics, Hurricane football, and especially Lamar Little League baseball. He loved baseball and played on several travel teams throughout high school and was able to play in Australia. Brandon graduated from Foster High School in 2007. Following his graduation, Brandon attended several colleges to pursue his many ambitions that were all construction related. He was a very hands-on person and could build or fix anything you asked him to. Brandon loved to work on his trucks and was always making them unique.

Besides sports, Brandon had a passion for fishing and the outdoors in general. He kept fishing poles and a bag of lures in his truck at all times. If he was driving and saw a pond or lake, he had to stop and throw a few casts, even if he had somewhere to be. The San Bernard River was a place where Brandon shared so many great reminiscences with his friends and family at their river house. He was able to take their boat out and fish all day long, which were some of his greatest memories. Brandon could out tube, wakeboard, and kneeboard everyone with the special tricks he taught himself to do. Surfside Beach also became one of his favorite places to be on the weekends. Brandon would pull his truck up to the water, set up a fishing line, and skim board across the sands until his pole would bend with a fish.

Brandon's personality was one no one could dislike. He could make friends with anyone and everyone with his outgoing sense of humor and charming smile. He was the type of person everyone wanted to be around and put every person before himself. Brandon did so many favors for his friends and family just out of the generosity of his huge heart. Using his handy-man skills, Brandon loved to make unique, rustic furniture for his loved ones just to be kind.
He is loved by so many people and touched everyone's hearts with his upbeat attitude and unforgettable smile. Brandon will forever be watching over us and
we are all blessed to have the gift of him for the 27 years we did.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2015, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek - 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 11, 2015, at Grand Parkway Baptist Church, 12000 FM 1464, Richmond, TX, followed by a reception. Interment will follow the reception at Morton Cemetery, in Richmond, TX.

Karin, This is Julia Hackney...one of Madison's preschool teachers at Pecan Grove Baptist many years ago. Karen Lea shared this news with me this morning. I am heartbroken for all of you. There are no words of comfort during this time but I pray for the sun to shine on you during these dark days and for you to lean in to God. He does not promise there will be no pain or sadness, but He promises He will be there through it. Reading about Brandon, I know he lived a great life and was good to his core. He lived a "wide" life though all too short. I am so very sorry for this loss. Love, Julia

What a awesome celebration of Brandon, all of you put together. Loved loved hearing the funny stories and seeing his friends confessing some of their stunts they all pulled. The slide show was perfect! "Neal" was so great, I have decided to visit him on a Sunday! I am so sorry for what you all have had to go thru, I can not begin to feel the ache in your heart that must be there now.. Remember the fun times and all of the crazy things that he did. (like the beer with the homeless dude) Love to all of you! My Best!

Heaven gained such a special set of wings. Brandon touched the lives of so many, even if he knew them for just a second. Of course, the thing that I will remember most about Brandon was his infectious smile. Gisi family, I pray that God embraces you with strength, love and peace during this time.

Dear Joe, Karen and Madison,
Joe and I were deeply saddened by the passing of Brandon. We know that this is a time of grief for you both and want to let you know that Joe and I are here for you both. "We may grieve over the death of a loved one, but to God, it is home coming time. No more pain, no more sorrow, no more heartache. They are now in the loving arms of their creator, their God, and their Saviour." We will keep your family in our prayers.

Bless you all, Joe and Karen Rome
