Brandon Lee Thornsberry, a beloved husband and an incredible girl dad, passed away on Monday, June 23rd, 2025, in Nashville Tennessee at Vanderbilt Hospital at the age of 41. He was born on September 12th, 1983, in Athens, Texas.
Brandon pursued his passion for helping others at Union University, where he studied athletic training, a field in which he began his career and positively impacted countless student-athletes at Montgomery Bell Academy. He later transitioned his career into hospice and healthcare, a testament to his profound empathy and dedication to caring for others. He was a proud member of Alpha Tau Omega where he made countless friends that he considered brothers.
Brandon spent 15 years of beautiful marriage with the love of his life, Cortney. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. He was known for his big dimples and incredible smile, bringing light into every room that he entered. Brandon left a positive and lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He loved his family and community deeply. He enjoyed gardening and dancing his way through life. He loved cooking and going to the beach with his family. Some of his favorite activities with his daughters included: dancing in the living room, looking for seashells, watching soccer games and dance recitals.
He is survived by his wife, Cortney Thornsberry, and his cherished daughters, Braylin and Brynlee Thornsberry. Other family members include Marshala Stanford (mother),Richard Thornsberry (father), Brittany Thornsberry (sister), and Casey Stanford (brother). Brandon's deep commitment to his family and his unwavering kindness, laughter, and smile will be profoundly missed by all
