Portsmouth - It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandy Bobolas, age 51, of
Portsmouth, NH, who passed away on July 27th after a courageous two-year battle with esophageal cancer. Brandy died surrounded by those who loved her most, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love.
Brandy was born on January 9, 1974, in
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and from an early age, she brought joy and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She spent her childhood in Portsmouth before moving to Hampton, NH at the age of 12, where she later graduated from Winnacunnet High School. Over the years, Brandy also called Virginia and Arizona home, building meaningful connections wherever life took her. Known for her generous heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty, Brandy was a steady source of light, comfort, and strength-always ready to lend a listening ear, share a laugh, or offer her help without hesitation.
She is survived by her mother Sharon Bobolas, her spouse Patricia Paredes, her two beloved sons Carlos and Diego Villicana, her father Harry Bobolas and stepmother Lesley Bobolas, her sister Alexandra Bobolas and brother Andrew Bobolas and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and dear friends who cherished her deeply.
From the time she was little, sneaking out on her tricycle at age 3, Brandy showed a fearless, adventurous spirit and a heart full of courage. She was never afraid of anything and lived each day with boldness and curiosity.
Brandy found joy making memories with her soul mate Patricia, her two sons, and her tight knit family the "Bobo's". She also found delight behind the lens of a camera, on drives with her beloved dog Harvey windows down listening to 80's and 90's hip hop classics, and cheering passionately for her favorite team the New England Patriots. She was deeply passionate about the causes she believed in and never hesitated to use her voice to speak up, create positive change, and stand firmly for what mattered most to her. She had a gift for making people feel seen, and heard. Whether it was offering a helping hand without hesitation or sharing a moment of laughter, she was always first in line when someone needed support.
Her adventurous spirit carried her far and wide, and along the way, she touched lives in every walk of life. Whether it was colleagues at GEICO and Sun Life Financial, family, complete strangers, or even the occasional celebrity-Brandy left a lasting impression on everyone she met, including Oprah Winfrey. She brought warmth, humor, and a rare authenticity to every encounter-a true force of nature who will never be forgotten.
