Brayden Nelson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 26, 2026.
Brayden Scott Nelson, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2026, at the tender age of 16. Born on April 30, 2009, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Brayden brought joy and light into the lives of all who knew him. He made his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he touched the hearts of many.

Growing up, Brayden was full of energy and imagination, always eager to dive into his favorite hobbies. He spent countless hours designing elaborate Lego creations, collecting Pokémon cards, and exploring the world of video games. A proud member of the Mt. Healthy Owls high school volleyball team, he also enjoyed playing basketball, football, and taking part in lively Nerf battles with friends. Brayden's enthusiasm and joy were truly contagious.

A talented musician, Brayden's love of music blossomed in the fifth grade when he joined the Mt. Healthy School Band. His passion and dedication led him to perform in numerous ensembles, including the marching, symphonic, and jazz bands. His commitment extended beyond music-Brayden excelled academically, earning a place on the Honor Roll at Mt. Healthy High School. A proud member of both the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars, he actively gave back to his community by helping clean local parks and bringing joy to nursing home residents through spirited games of Bingo.

Brayden cherished every moment with his brothers, Elijah and Quinten, sharing endless jokes, laughter, and adventures. He found great joy in swimming and experiencing the excitement of amusement parks, especially during memorable family vacations to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Hershey Park, Pennsylvania, where he even had the chance to design his own candy bar. Above all, Brayden treasured time with his family and deeply valued the bonds that kept them close.

Brayden leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Michelle Nelson; brothers, Elijah Dishman and Quinten Dishman; grandparents, Gregory and Flora Nelson, and Laura and Bill Hutchinson; his aunts and uncles, Marla Nelson, Melissa and Kevin Baumann, Steven and Jasmaine Rehbaum, Michael and Rachelle Rehbaum; his great-uncle, Mike Nelson; his cherished cousins, Lincoln Schwarz, Heaven, Jayden, Caleb, Aaliyah, and Olivia Rehbaum; and numerous friends whose lives were forever changed by his kindness and spirit.

To honor and celebrate Brayden's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to attend the forthcoming funeral services on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 4:30 p.m.

An Open House Visitation will also be held that evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Arlington.

In honoring Brayden's memory, we will remember his infectious laughter, his generous heart, and the love he shared with each of us. He will be deeply missed but forever celebrated in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home by calling (513) option 2.

I came to Mt. Healthy in 4th grade and Brayden was one of my first friends there. Unfortunately, I had to move away after Freshman Year and I couldn´t make it to the service because I´m states away. However, Brayden was beyond my best friend, I called him a brother. He was an extremely good friend and I could have never asked for better. This is the last photo I have together. Gone but never forgotten, he will stay in our hearts forever.
