COLUMBIANA - Brenda Joyce Bruderly, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024, at her home in Columbiana.
Brenda was born on February 18, 1950, in Salem, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Weikart) Bruderly. Brenda's life was marked by her unwavering kindness, love, and the friendly spirit she brought into every room.
As a lifelong resident of Ohio, Brenda graduated from Greenford High School in the class of 1968. She carried the same warmth and compassion that characterized her youth into her professional life. Brenda was a waitress for quite a few years and then a self-employed childcare giver, a role that allowed her to share her nurturing love with numerous families over the years. To those
children and parents, she was not just a caregiver; she was like a member of their family. She loved hearing stories of "her kids"growing families and proudly displayed their pictures in her home.
Brenda's passion for life extended beyond her vocation. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing her time with her beloved dogs and considering her workout sessions at the gym as her "social time." These moments were not just for staying physically fit but also for nurturing friendships and sharing laughter and stories.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Bruderly; mother, Mary (Weikart) Bruderly, and her siblings Sherry Ford, Carla Selway, and Rick Bruderly.
She is survived by her brother, Jack Bruderly and his wife, Joyce, of Salem; sister, Linda Seaman and her husband, Ralph, of Columbiana; sister, Paula Krzanowsky and her husband, John, of Canfield; sister, Lori Welsh and her husband, Bill, of Columbiana; and sister, Tammy Evanoff and her husband, Gary of Salem. Brenda also leaves behind her best friend and caregiver, Dr. Lisa Kurtz, of Columbiana, who stood by her side with unwavering support. Her memory will also be cherished by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.
Brenda's life was a testament to the power of kindness and friendship. She had a very generous heart and was always willing to share the little she had with her friends and family. Her "famous" eggplant parmesan will be remembered by many as her signature dish, as well as the chocolate covered cashews she would make and give to many at Christmas.
She was a friend to many and a second mother to some. Those who knew Brenda will miss her smile, generous spirit and the love she had for children and animals; especially Gizmo, her beloved dog of 15 years who was her life.
Brenda's family would like to thank those who were always there for her during her time of need.
A private family graveside service for Brenda will be held at a later date.
