BRENDA SUE COINER (NEE' STEPHENS), age 80, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Teays Valley, West Virginia. Born on January 12, 1945, in Albertville, Alabama. Brenda lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and many communities she touched around the world. For over six decades, Brenda shared her life with her beloved husband of 61 years, John P. Coiner. Together they embarked on a remarkable journey shaped by John's service as an Army Officer Major and career Civil Servant. Brenda stood steadfastly beside him through 37 years of military and civil service life, moving more than 17 times across the globe to places including Germany, Turkey, Italy, Greece, and Korea. In each new home, she brought warmth and leadership, often serving as president of the Officers' Wives Clubs and dedicating herself to community volunteer work. Brenda's unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted witness for Jesus Christ her Lord, she was a beacon of light to churches throughout North Georgia for over 45 years. Her spiritual commitment continued during her final years in Teays Valley, where she and John were active members of Maranatha Fellowship Church in St. Albans, WV. Known affectionately as "Mawmaw" by countless children whose lives she enriched with love and joy. Brenda embodied kindness and compassion. Her vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her-family members, friends across continents, church communities, and neighbors alike. She is lovingly remembered by her husband John P. Coiner of Teays Valley; her brother Tom and sister Terri Coiner of Cross Lanes; Michael, Mary, Dalton and Landon Markrush of Foster, Rhode Island, and Kenny Corcelli of Covington, Rhode Island, along with 22 other nephews and nieces; and many close friends and extended relatives who cherished her deeply.
