Brenda Collins

Brenda Eugener Collins, age 71, died Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah. Born in Statesboro on October 6, 1953, Brenda was the daughter of the late Mitchell Loyd and Lucy Joyce Riggs Collins. She graduated from Statesboro High School in 1972 and worked at Roydon Wear as a seamstress and GSU in the Landrum Center Cafeteria. Living most of her life on her own, Brenda was very independent. She loved everyone deeply and had a huge heart. She never met a stranger and spoke to everyone she encountered. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Omie Collins Mitchell and Lloyd Collins, Arthur James Riggs and Myrtis Riggs, her brother and father figure, Arthur Collins, and her brother, Jack Collins.
Surviving are her siblings; Linda Moore, John Collins, Patricia (Gary) McCubbins, David (Charlotte) Collins, Van (Chyrle) Collins, Dewayne Collins (fiancé Monica Engelter James), her sister-in-law and mother figure, Karen Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Georgia with Reverend Jody Bryant officiating.
