Brenda "Bernie" Davis

Brenda B. Davis, 83, of Seaford passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford.
She was born on July 20, 1939 in Pine Knot, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Audrey Joyce (Cox) Schmidt and Raymond Schmidt.
Brenda was fondly known as Bernie by her family. She served as a librarian for 20 years at the Delmar Public Library. She loved playing the piano, going for car rides, and was an avid Orioles fan. She also enjoyed watching Bob Ross painting shows, and had a talent for painting herself. Most importantly, she loved caring for her family.
She is survived by her children, Bruce E. Davis, Bobby Davis, and Brenda Kornblum and her husband Scott; grandchildren, Alex Davis, Rachael Kornblum, and Logan Kornblum; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Grace Smullen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Davis; and brothers, Raymond Sonny Schmidt and Hildon Schmidt.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Pastor Gordon Nock will officiate.
