Billy Elliott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Pocomoke City on Mar. 10, 2026.
Billy R. Elliott Jr., 74, of Hebron, Maryland, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland.

Billy was born on September 5, 1951, in Salisbury, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Campbell Bear. Billy was also preceded in death by his grandmother and step-grandfather, Louise and Norman Smith, who were an important part of his life.

Billy was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family and in the work he did throughout his life. He was a retired pipe fitter with Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 486. In addition to his career with the union, he owned and operated Wild Bill's Auto Upholstery in Delmar, Delaware for many years, where his craftsmanship and love for cars came together.

Billy had a lifelong passion for classic cars, especially Chevrolets. Whether he was working on them, talking about them, or simply admiring them, cars were something that always brought him joy.

He was also known for his incredible sense of humor. Billy had a way of making people laugh wherever he went, and many who knew him have shared stories of the jokes, quick wit, and laughter he brought into their lives.

More than anything, Billy loved his family. He shared 43 years with his devoted fiancée, Beverly Wilkins. He is survived by his daughter, Jody Lynn Elliott Mason; his grandchildren, A.J. Mason and Reilly Mason; and his great-grandson, Andrew Justin "Drew" Mason Jr., whom he absolutely adored and who brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by Brian Wilkins, Samuel Wilkins, and Sadie Wilkins, and shared a particularly close bond with Samuel.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved son, Norman Andrew "Andy" Elliott.

Those who knew Billy will remember his strong work ethic, his love of classic cars, his unforgettable sense of humor, and the deep love he had for the people in his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Brew River in Salisbury, Maryland.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the memories he leaves behind. His laughter, his love, and the time we were fortunate enough to share with him will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
