Michael Tomlin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Feb. 27, 2026.
Michael James Tomlin, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Medical Center on February 23, 2026. He was born February 2, 1951, to the late William Tomlin and Ida Jenkins.

Mike received formal education in Wicomico County then enlisted in the US Army Reserve and was honorably discharged. Then he took his love of driving to driving for various companies throughout the years. He retired from the City of Salisbury when his health no longer allowed him to work.

Mike was a co-founding member and vice president of Salisbury Street & Hot Rod. You could frequently find him on a Sunday afternoon at the racetrack in Delmar. He was also a member of Living Bread Worship Center.

Besides his love of hot rods, Mike loved sports. He spent years volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club and served on the board of commissioners for the Salvation Army. He also received a Volunteer of the Year award for all the years and hours he volunteered.

Whether you had a dent, major damage, or just needed a paint job, Mike was the man to see. He ran Tomlin's Auto Body for years.

Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Tomlin; daughter, Michelle Hutt of NC; bonus daughter, Tonya Brown Perry (Derrick) of MD; brother, Jerry Tomlin (Natalie) of MD; sister, Yvonne Savage of AZ; sisters-in-law, Gladys Justice, Margaret Christopher and Doris Christopher; grandchildren, Danielle Hutt of NC and Michael Tomlin III of MD; aunt, Dorothy "Midget" Sterling of MD; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son, Michael Tomlin, Jr.; sisters, Yvette Jenkins and Alane Primus. Unfortunately, his sister, Karen Jenkins, passed away on the same day.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Living Bread Worship Center, 506 E. College Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21804. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the church. Burial will be in Springhill Memory Garden, Hebron.
