Brenda Ann Gilkey, born on November 8, 1945, in Princeton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on November 4, 2025. She was a beloved member of her community and a faithful charter member of Southside Baptist Church.
Brenda dedicated 30 years of her professional life to Farmers Dry Cleaners, where she worked under the ownership of Tommy & Joyce Farmer and later Doug & Joyce Osting. Her work ethic and commitment to her job reflected her caring nature, which extended to all aspects of her life, especially in taking care of her family.
Brenda was an avid reader and an enthusiastic cook. She had a special fondness for watching her grandson participate in tractor pulls. The highlight of her time was spending it with her grandsons - Dalton, Blaine and Cash.
Her family was her world, and she leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Richard Gilkey. She is also survived by her daughter, Stefanie Gilkey Hicks (Zac Ford) of Princeton. Additionally, she leaves behind her brother, Clarence Peek (Vonda) of Caldwell County; her sisters, Dorothy Pool of Princeton, and Wilma Edmonds (Charlie) of Benton; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Peek of Caldwell County. Her grandchildren, Dalton Hicks of Caldwell County, and Blaine and Cash Hicks of Princeton, were a source of great pride and joy for her. Brenda is also remembered fondly by her extended family, including Shawn Hicks of Caldwell County, as well as her special nephew and niece, Byron Pool and Gail Pool of Princeton, in addition to several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, John and Jessie Kannady Peek; her brothers, Gary Peek, Phillip David Peek, and Harold Peek; and her sisters, Wanda Coble and Milladean Dearing.
The visitation honoring Brenda will take place on November 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Goodman Funeral Home, located at 1032 West Main St, Princeton, KY 42445. Burial to follow at Lamasco Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Kyle Noffsinger officiating.
Brenda Ann Gilkey will be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on through the love she shared with her family.
