Brenda Joyce Hawkins-Worrell

Brenda Hawkins-Worrell, 76, passed away November 26, 2025. She was born in Suffolk, VA, the daughter of the late James and Jewel Mathias Ellis. Brenda retired as a teacher for Suffolk Public Schools. Her passion and dedication to her student's success is part of her legacy. She was a member of Glebe Episcopal Church and was a dedicated follower of Christ.
Brenda is survived by her two sons Chris Hawkins (Danniele), and Johnny Boykin (Amy); her six grandchildren, Kayla Callis, Morgan Rose (Eric), Briley Hawkins, and Taylor Boykin (Alina), Carson Boykin, Andrew Boykin; her six great-grandchildren Ashlyn Arnold, Paisley Callis, Nicholas "Jr" Callis, and Everly Rose, Oliver Rose, and Emerson Boykin. She is also survived by her brother Paul Ellis (Carol), sister Kimberly Johnson (Ben), nieces and nephew Crystal, Shelby, and RJ, great-nephew Braxton and great-niece Ellie. Family was the most important thing in her life, and she enjoyed talking to any and everybody about them.
