Brenda Kay Kirkland, 74, of Dallas, passed away at her home on April 29. 2024. She was born on January 24, 1950, in Gaston County, to the late Walter Clyde Kirkland, Sr. and Frances Elnora Payseur Kirkland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter C Kirkland, Jr.; sister, Jeannette Kirkland.
Left to cherish her memories are sister, Pat Westbrook; sister-in-law, Carol Kirkland; nephew, Scott Westbrook (Lisa); niece, Cathy Driggers (Mark), Killashandra Johnson (Matthew), great nieces, Tori Scott (Kyle), Ashlee Kay (Andrew), Sarah Westbrook, Ashlynn Westbrook, Chloe Johnson, Karigan Johnson; great, great nephews, Hunter, Thrasher, and Xander; great, great nieces, Nora, Harper, and Kennedy.
Brenda was a faithful member for 74 years at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church. She loved going to summer camp at Camp Courtney. She spent much of her life as a shift supervisor in textiles-spinning at Rex #2. She also worked at Advance Auto Parts in Gastonia. She loved children and her family. She enjoyed looking at old cars and being outdoors.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Brenda’s Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Cameron Bryson officiating.
Inurnment will be at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Restoring Hope Foursquare Church in her honor.
