Brenda Sue Preuett, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 at Skyline Medical Center. Born on July 3, 1949, in Nashville, TN, Brenda lived a life marked by faith in God, creativity, and selfless devotion to her family and friends.

A graduate of Maplewood High School's Class of 1967, Brenda pursued her passion for art with remarkable dedication. She built a distinguished career as a retail artist, drawing advertisements for some of the region's department stores including Cain Sloan, Castner Knott, and Steinmart. Her artistic talent was not only her profession but also her joy. Whether working in watercolor, acrylics, or pen and ink, Brenda's eye for beauty was evident in every piece she created. Her artwork -hundreds of pieces-graces homes and spaces throughout Middle Tennessee and beyond.

Brenda's artistry extended far beyond the canvas. She had an innate gift for making the world around her more beautiful-through gardening, floral arranging, and interior decorating, both her own home and those of her friends. Her serene presence and willingness to help left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

At the heart of Brenda's life was her deep and abiding faith. She became a Christian at the age of 16 and remained a faithful member of the Broadmoor church of Christ (formerly Ewing Lane) for 60 years. Her commitment to Christ was not merely part of her identity-it defined her entirely. Many who knew Brenda have described her as the most Christlike person they had ever encountered. Her selflessness, generosity, and quiet strength were hallmarks of a life lived in service to others.

Brenda cared deeply for those around her and gave freely of herself to family, friends, and countless others who came into her life. She is survived by her beloved sister Alicia Hunter; cousins Debi Tiller, Sherry Osborne, and Aimee Bracken; as well as a wide circle of honorary family members and cherished friends.

Among those who held special places in Brenda's heart were "The Girls"-Linda Bain, Kathy Turney, Brenda Petty, Debbie Lowe, and Brenda Johns-her lifelong friends with whom she shared over five decades of travel adventures and annual gift exchanges. She also leaves behind honorary grandchildren Adam, Zach, and Chevis Webb, and dear friends Jenny Webb, Carol Roy, Karen Bain, and Renita Harber. There are many children-and now grown adults-who were touched by her kindness and attention throughout their lives, encouraging them in their artistic pursuits or just never forgetting a birthday. Special thanks to so many who tenderly cared for her during this difficult year.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Bradley Preuett; mother, Sue Hunter; sister, Janice Mello Harris; and brother, Mitch Mello.

Her legacy is one of grace-filled living: creating beauty wherever she went, nurturing relationships with care and constancy, serving God and others faithfully in her church community for six decades-and above all else-loving without condition. She had a special place in her heart for the elderly, and those who were suffering. After caring for all in her physical family, she continued to reach out to her church family and provide support to the hurting and lonely.

May the memory of Brenda Preuett bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN. After the visitation, A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM, with burial to follow.
