On March 28, 2023, another angel got her wings as Brenda Lee Purdy moved on from this world of ours.
Brenda was 52 years young, born September 13, 1970. After getting her GED from Baldwinsville High School she became a mother to her oldest daughter Ashley at 19 years old.
Despite being a young mother, she went on to work as a seamstress at a bridal shop as well as working at a florist shop making arrangements. Over time Brenda became a single mother of three children, but she could never be broken. Throughout her life Brenda fought through severe illnesses, both physical and mental, but always remained strong and caring for those around her. Anyone that was close to Brenda always had a place to rest their head or a shoulder to cry on, and she always placed others' needs above her own.
Despite her own modest way of living, Brenda would go above and beyond to make sure nobody else went without. While she may have moved on to greener pastures, she will be greatly missed by family and anyone else blessed with the privilege of getting to know her.
Family was everything to Brenda, and most anyone was considered family by Brenda, but she particularly adored her grand babies and her beloved dog...or "furry son" Pretty Boy.
Survived by her mother and father Gary Purdy and Wendie Webb; her brothers Eric and Andrew Webb; her children Ashley Stevens, Mariah Stevens, Dayton Castleman; son-in-law Ricky Brown; and her 8 grandchildren Stylez Sabine, Rosa Lee Stevens, Killian Drake, Carter Dumas, Dahlia Brown, Jazmine Dumas, Sayge Brown, and Frankie Dumas.
In her last days Brenda spent much of her time with her stereo turned up to the max sipping her Labatt's and playing cards or crafting. She was widely known by her community for her caring, generosity, and at times, downright obnoxiousness.
It is without question Brenda Lee Purdy will be missed dearly.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 3-4pm at New Comer, North Syracuse, NY.
