It is with love-filled hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Brenda Lee Goodpaster Sosby, a light of warmth and kindness, on February 13, 2026, in
Lexington, Kentucky. Born on February 26, 1963, in
Cynthiana, Kentucky, Brenda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who dedicated her life to her family.
Brenda's journey began as a graduate of Bourbon County High School in 1981. She went on to serve her community with loyal dedication as an employee at Jerry's Restaurant for 30 years, where her warm smile became a familiar comfort to many.
Her life was a testament to love and generosity, reflected in her devotion to her husband, Tony Leo Sosby. Together, they shared a love for the outdoors, often venturing into the tranquility of nature on hunting expeditions. Brenda's passion for music shone brightly through her adoration of Reba McIntire, whose shows and concerts she attended with enthusiasm. She was also an avid wrestling fan, adding excitement and joy to her life.
Those who knew Brenda will fondly remember her dedication to her family, particularly in the love she showered upon her daughters, Amber Nicole (Jeffery) Cuzick and Robbi Lynn (Michael Hatton) Sosby. Brenda's seven grandchildren, Brandy, Kailey, Lakyn, Kendrick, Colley, Angie, and Justin, along with her three great-grandchildren, Adalee, Waylon, and Easton, were the light of her life. Her joyful spirit will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Butch Goodpaster and Matt Goodpaster, and by the extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who were fortunate to experience her unconditional love.
Brenda's legacy is one of enduring love and selflessness, representing the purest expressions of a life well-lived. Described by all as loving, friendly, and selfless, she made a lasting impact through her genuine concern and care for others. As we bid farewell to Brenda, her memory lives on as a guiding light of compassion and grace.
Though preceded in death by her parents, Edward Dickie Goodpaster, Sr. and Ruby Mae Parrish Goodpaster; her son, Brent Sosby; her sister, Linda Blake; and her brother, Dale Goodpaster, Brenda's spirit continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to be cherished and will echo through generations to come in the love she has instilled in her family and friends. Brenda Lee Goodpaster Sosby's grace will never be forgotten; she will be eternally loved and greatly missed by many.
