Marshall Sosby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson-Marry Funeral Home - Adrian Chapel on Dec. 28, 2025.
ADRIAN - Marshall E. Sosby, age 84, of Adrian and formerly of Hudson, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 19, 2025, under the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on July 16, 1941, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, to James L. and Anna G. (Burden) Sosby. On December 31, 1960, he married Birgit Schuldt in Crailsheim, Germany, and she survives. Marshall was a very meticulous worker, and began working at the age of nine with his father. He had been employed by GTE/Verizon for 30 years as a telephone installer for businesses, installing the first 911 system at the Lenawee County Sheriffs Office. After retirement he was owner and operator of The Telephone Man.
Marshall was a family man first and foremost. He loved spending time with the love of his life, Birgit, and his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, cutting wood, and in his younger years, hunting. His childhood was filled with playing pranks on his brothers.
In addition to his wife of nearly 65 years, Birgit, he is survived by two daughters, Charlotte (Bill) Kirby and Jeanette (Todd) Plowman; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carman Sosby; three sisters, Wanda Wilson, Bernice Reed and Deloris Kitchen; and a brother, Billie Jo Sosby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funeral services will also be held at the funeral home, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Cremation will follow and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Hudson, at a later date.
