Brenda Marie Thompson, age 66, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at her home in Glidden surrounded by her family.
A private funeral service will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.
Brenda was born on December 16, 1958 in Atlantic, Iowa, to Ross and Jean (Dinkey) Bornholdt.
Brenda spent her early years on a farm near Cumberland and later moved to a farm near Walnut. She graduated from Walnut High School in 1977.
On August 16, 1980, Brenda was united in marriage to Eldon Thompson in Harlan, Iowa. They became the proud parents of three children: Shannon, Nathan, and Sheldon.
Brenda worked at Breakpoint Gas Station for several years and most recently at the Super 8 Motel in Carroll. She enjoyed going to races with her husband, walking her dogs, and listening to her windchimes.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Eldon; her children and families: Shannon Thompson of Glidden, Nathan Thompson (Melissa) of Glidden, and Sheldon Thompson (Alison) of Norwalk; her mother Jean Bornholdt of Walnut; six grandchildren: Aaron, Landon, Ethan, Tanisha, Addyson, and Camren; two great-grandchildren: Lakelynn and Bristol; a sister Pamela Peterson (Allan) of Avoca; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brenda was preceded in death by a sister Laurie and her father Ross Bornholdt.
Brenda was a very private and caring person whose greatest wish was for her family to be close and happy.
